A Seminar organized by Civil Engineering Department of DKTE

Civil Engineering Department organized One-day Seminar for students on the topic “Career Opportunities in Civil Engineering in Public and Private sectors”. This seminar was organized, in association with ‘ The Institution on Engineers, India, Kolhapur Local Centre’. For this seminar, leading Civil Engineering practitioners shared their views with students in different sessions. They shared information regarding wide opportunities in various Civil engineering fields.

DKTE students participated in Tree Plantation for celebrating ‘Van Mahotsav-2019’

7 July 2019

Maharashtra State is celebrated ‘Van Mahotsav’ from the period 1st July to 7th July 2019. DKTE students participated in Tree Plantation program organized in co-ordination with Gram Panchayat of ‘Mouje Sangav’ Village near Kagal. Students of our Civil Engineering Department, Diploma students and students of Textile Engineering Department participated enthusiastically in the program. This Tree Plantation programme was jointly organized by Students’ Chapter of Institution of Engineers of Civil Engineering Department, Civil Engineering Students’ Association (CESA), Nature Club of DKTE and National Service Scheme (NSS) students of DKTE. Total 600 Tree Saplings were planted by students.

Important part of this activity was the conservation and protection of present trees already planted, as 3200 trees were planted in last three years earlier by DKTE students, Volunteers and Gram Panchayat of Mouje Sangav.

‘Guru Purnima’ Celebrations @ DKTE

16 Sept. 2019

Guru Purnima was celebrated by the students of DKTE on 16/07/2019. This program was organized by DKTE to support the campaign ‘Selfie with Guru’ by MHRD. The HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank through a video message said “To mark the occasion of Guru Purnima, if people publish their selfie with anyone whom they consider to be their guru and express their gratitude, respect towards them, then the guru-shishya (teacher-disciple) culture of India will revive.” In a recorded message in Hindi, he said, “Guru can be anyone who inspired you to do better in life.”

Civil Engineering Students' Association (CESA) of DKTE celebrated Teachers day. All students of Civil Engineering department organised program and felicitated all teachers. Students expressed their thoughts. On this occasion all Civil Engineering Teaching faculty and Non teaching staff were present.

Fresher’s Welcome "Parichay-2019" – Civil Engineering Department

Civil Engineering students' Association organised a Fresher's Welcome "Parichay-2019." The newly admitted students of First year B. Tech (Civil Engineering ) were invited for this program. The program was full of enjoyment with different funny games, songs, dance and music and also talent shows were kept to select the "Mr. Fresher" and "Miss Fresher". All Civil Engineering teaching faculty and nonteaching staff were present for the program

Seminar on “Animal Equality” conducted by Civil Engineering Department

Civil Engineering Students’ Association (CESA) of DKTE conducted a Seminar on the topic, “The Truth behind Animal Agriculture” on 24th March, 2021 at 10:30 am. Mr. Aman Sharma- Education Coordinator at Animal Equality from Pune guided the students. Animal Equality is an international organization working with society, governments, and companies to protect the animals.

D.K.T.E. Civil Engineering Department’s Students’ Chapter of The Institution of Engineers (India) Kolkata was inaugurated. Er. Riyaz Satti - President, Association of Engineers and Architects, Ichalkaranji was the Chief Guest of this function. He guided the students about the responsibility of Civil Engineers in the society. He also gave hints for becoming successful Civil Engineer.

World Water Day March 22nd - 'Valuing Water'

World Water Day is observed on March 22 every year. It seeks to focus attention on the global water crisis. People and organisations mark World Water Day every year by taking action to tackle the water crisis in different ways. Water is one of the necessities for every living being on this planet.

World Water Day 21 will focus on the theme 'Valuing Water'. This target will extend beyond concerns of cost to include the environmental and socio-cultural value placed on water resources. World Water Day 2021, is about what water means to people, it's value and how we can protect this essential life resource.

You can celebrate World Water Day by practising ways to conserve water in your daily routine. Here are some important and easy ways for the conservation of water

  • Keeping the tap closed when not in use and don't ignore any water leaks
  • Use the collected rainwater for different purposes as required.
  • o not run more water than necessary while doing daily chores.
  • Do not prolong your bathing, have a quick shower.
  • Practice rainwater harvesting.

Students’ Chapter of The Institution of Engineers (India) of Civil Engineering Department celebrated World Water Day on 22nd March 2021 by conducting an online webinar. Er. Arun Deshmukh Head, Agronomy Division & AGM, Sugarcane Projects, Netafim Irrigation India Pvt. Ltd. Pune was the key speaker of the webinar. He spoke on the topic "DRIP Nutrigation and Digital Farming Solution for Increasing Water Use Efficiency!". He covered all the aspects associated with water saving and crop yield in agricultural areas. For this webinar all committee members of Institution of Engineers (India) Kolhapur Local center, Professionals, academicians and students were present.

IEI Students' Chapter of Civil Engineering Department of DKTE celebrated Women's Day by organising Online Webinar of Dr. Jyoti Jadhav (Committee member IEI Kolhapur local centre). Topic of webinar was "Be A Fe...Money...ist!”. Dr. Jyoti Jadhav spoke on Women Empowerment, Time Management, Health and Financial independence. All students, Academicians, Professionals and committee members of IEI Kolhapur local centre attended this webinar. Student President of IEI Students' chapter Miss.                      Women's Day celebration by IEI Students' Chapter of Civil Engineering

 

Seminar on “Innovations and Entrepreneurship in Water Resources Engineering” conducted by Civil engineering Department of DKTE 

The Institution Innovation Council IIC and ‘The Institution of Engineers (India)’ Students' Chapter of the Civil Engineering Department organized a Seminar on “Innovations and Entrepreneurship in Water Resources Engineering” for Civil Engineering students on 24/02/2021(Wednesday). In this technical session Prof. Ajay Deshpande (Agricultural Engineering Section RCSM College of Agriculture, Kolhapur) spoke on various Innovations in Water Resources Engineering and Entrepreneurship Skill Development. He also focused on Storm Water Management, Research in Ground Water Engineering. For this seminar all faculties and students of Civil Engineering Department were present. This seminar was co-ordinated by Prof.V.D.Sakhare.

 

 

One Week STTP Conducted by Civil Engineering Department
 
Civil Engineering Department of DKTE conducted one week “Short Term Training Program” on the theme “Recent Trends in Civil Engineering”. This STTP was organized under lead college scheme, Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The programme was conducted from 20th September to 24th September 2021 through online mode. Renowned resource persons from academia and industry like Dr. Madhav. B. Kumthekar (HOD Civil, College of Engineering, Karad), Er. Sangamnath Uppin (Executive Director, Shiv Sai Associates, Solapur),Prof. Mahesh S.Salunke (HOD Civil, Department of Technology Shivaji university Kolhapur), Dr. Akshay Thorvat (HOD Civil-Env. Engg KIT Kolhapur), Prof. Abhay M. Joshi (HOD Civil, D.Y. Patil COE Kolhapur), Dr.Jalindar R. Patil (Consultant- Civil Engineering, Pune), Prof. A. S. Sajane. Dean FDC,JJMCOE,Jaysingpur,Er. Mahesh P. Bendre (Assistant Manager CTS, J-K Cement) and Dr. Mahesh B. Chougule (HOD Civil, DKTE, Ichalkaranji) shared their expertise and knowledge on various topics. Faculties and students of various colleges attended the programme.
The STTP was co-ordinated by Prof. A.L.Mulla, Prof. S.K.Patil, Prof. V.D.Sakhare, Prof. V.S.Sherekar and Prof. G.S.Patil.
