  • Purpose of Internal Complaint Committee (ICC)
The main purpose of the ICC is to create and encourage a safe working environment for all the women employed by the institute and girl students with objective mentioned below: 
 
• To create a healthy environment in the campus where every girl feels safe and self confident without any problems relating to gender discrimination and sexual harassment
 
This committee is designed to satisfy law:
Section 3(1) of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace(Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013: “No woman shall be subjected to sexual harassment at any workplace.”

 

  • Functions of ICC
1. To address the informal and formal complaints of any female employee or student as specified in the objectives of the cell.
2. To ensure the fair and timely resolution of the complaints.
3. To provide counseling and support services on our campus.
4. To promote awareness about sexual harassment and other acts of gender based violence through educational initiatives that encourages and fosters a respectful learning work environment at the institute

 

  • Who are protected under this act?
•  All women who work or visit DKTE, Ichalkaranji, whether on a regular, temporary, ad hoc, or daily pay basis, are protected.
•  This covers all women, whether they are employed directly or indirectly through an agency, including a contractor, with or without the knowledge of the primary employer.
•  They may be working for pay, on a volunteer basis, or both.
•  Their employment terms might be express or inferred.
•  She might also be a coworker, a contract worker, a probationer, a trainee, an apprentice, a student, or any other name.

 

  • What is Sexual Harrasment at the workplace?
"Sexual Harassment" comprises any or all of the following unwanted acts or behaviour (directly or indirectly), namely:
• Physical contact or approaches; 
• A demand or request for sexual favours; 
• Making highly sexualized remarks; 
• Showing pornography; 
• Any other unwanted physical, verbal, or nonverbal sexual behavior

Who can complain?

The complainant
In case of physical incapacity by
• Complainant’s friend
• Complainant’s relative
• Co worker
• Guardian or authority under whom the complaint may be taking treatment
• Any other person who has the knowledge of the incident with the consent of thecomplainant

 

When should you complain?

The complaint must be submitted to the internal complaints committee (ICC) within 3 months after the previous reported incidence of sexual harassment

How to file complain?

• The written complaint should contain a description of each incident(s).
• It should include relevant dates, timings and locations; name of the respondent(s); and the
• working relationship between the parties.
• The complaint SHOULD NOT be anonymous
• The complaint should be in a sealed cover

 

Where to file complaint?

• To the Head of the Department / Dean / Director / Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
• Sources receiving complaints other than the ICC must submit the complaint in sealed cover to the ICC for further investigation and the redress procedure to begin promptly.

  • IEEE Student Branch DKTE celebrated IEEE Day on October 17, 2023 at the main auditorium hall. IEEE Day is an annual event that was celebrated for the first time in history when engineers worldwide gathered to share their technical ideas in 1884. One of IEEE Day's objectives is to show the ways IEEE members, in local communities, join together to collaborate on ideas that leverage technology for a better tomorrow. This year DKTE 's IEEE Student Branch organized the event StartXpedition on the occasion of IEEE day along with its IEEE chapters IEEE AESS and IEEE CS. More than 200 students participated in the IEEE Day event.

  • IEEE DKTE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society and Computer Society Student Branch Chapters in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering organized an online coding contest "CODEWAR OF PANDORA" on 24th December 2022 under IEEE DKTE Student Branch(STB17301). Around 150+ students from various Institutes participated in the contest. The motto of the contest was to motivate the students of FY and SY towards Competitive Coding. 

 

ASSOCIATION OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING STUDENTS (ACSES) - 2023-2024

The department has started to form Computer science and engineering Students Association CISA from the year August 2003. Since 2009 the name changed as Association of Computer Science and Engineering Students (ACSES). Aim behind this association is to carry out different activities such as software contest, paper presentation, seminars, quiz competition, group discussion, aptitude & technical test preparation etc. All the activities are arranged & carry out by the student under the guidance of faculty member.
